Hi all,

Just bought my first boat w/ 4.6L OMC outdrive, and have a big problem. The tilt stopped working after a few hours of use and after trailering I noticed hydraulic fluid in the bilge, about 4 cups worth. The electric pump sounds like it is running dry when tilt is attempted.

I followed the 2 hydraulic lines from the pump and they look fine, until you get to the transom wall (behind a plate) where I can't see, but can see the oil trail from that general area into the bilge. On the outside everything looks fine, no leaks and the 3x2 valve looks OK.

It appears either the hoses or the hardware (valve?) where it connects to the transom wall in the engine compartment are bad and need to be replaced.

Problem is, I can't see any way to get to that area without taking the engine out! Is anyone familiar with this problem and/or how to access this area without taking everything apart? Any help is VERY appreciated.. Thanks everyone!

DC
