Re: OMC tilt mechanism plug?

You got the triangle cover off?

And the insides of the tilt clutch housing out?

You took off the truarc snap ring around the brass plug off?

All thats left is the worm gear and plug?

Turn the worm gear should pop it out.

It don't go into the housing it comes out.

You got a manual?

I take the guts out of the housing first.

Than i push that freekin plug out from the inside. bye turning the spur gear which turns the worm gear that push's that plug out.

Your diagram don't even show the snap ring.

You took it off?

I got the seloc right here in front of me.

This is what the front says on mine.

Omc Stern Drives

1964-86 Repair Manual

Figure 2- lower right hand corner.

Yours is what year?

Mine is 1986.

Maybe you didn't have one.

Glad you got it out.

I tuned mine with the motor also once to pop it out.
