My 800 tilt motor pooped. What's the best plan of attack? I'm capable of rebuilding it if I can get the parts... this is a prestolite motor, right (I don't have it out yet)?

It was getting slower and slower before it died so I knew it was coming, but was praying to finish out the season before it quit. What do I need to look for? The oil in the clutch dosn't have any water in it amazingly.

Type in 'tilt' and find the ones that match your YEAR. I've found the best prices here that you will find. Be wary of used ones.

http://motors.listings.ebay.com/Boa...1QQfsopZ1QQsacatZ50438QQsocmdZListingItemList

I just sold an absolutely pristine 3 wire flanged motor motor for $75.00.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2F%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D4553795169%26fvi%3D1&item=4553795169

On the other hand you might just need brushes.

Re: OMC Tilt Motor blues

I repaced my brushes about 10 years ago. That got mine working about %95 of the time but sometimes I have to click the switch more than once to get it to work.
