Is there any way to test or bypass the solonids to see if this is where the problem is on why the outdrive will not raise or lower????? I know there is power and I can just hear a clicking noise inside the solonoids when the switch is toggled.

If you have just one electric motor, try tapping on it with a small hammer. I did that with mine and it's woked fine since. ;)

It was doing the same as yours.

Is the clicking sound at the solonid normal? So your saying if I try lowering the unit and tap the motor with a hammer this may cause it to work? And if so and it works then the motor would need replacing or can it simply be cleaned? Are they easy to remove to clean/replace?

Re: OMC Tilt motor not working

Im not sure!! It is an '85 Sea Ray and had a new GM marine 350 motor installed last year. I just bought the boat and am working on getting it river ready. The boat is a Sundancer SRV250 if that helps. Is there a way to find out?

Re: OMC Tilt motor not working

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! It was nothing more than a loose wire at the male/female connector at the tilt motor. I was troubleshooting and trying to bypass the solonoids when I realized I was getting zero connectivity. Traced it down to the connector and noticed it was pressed down and not making a good connection. Pushed it back up, reconnected and BAM all works well. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!!!!!!
