OMC Tilt Problem

Have problem with tilt on 1980 OMC 185 IO. Outdrive is in down position and will not move. Trim works fine. When actuating the upward tilt switch, a whining noise comes from the motor. I need to get the drive up for trailering. Is there a release for manually raising the Outdrive? Where is it?<br />Thanks

Mine makes a terrible whinning noise also but it does go up and down. Can you have someone lift on the outdrive to "help" it up while you are raising. I know it sounds like a pain, But it just might be stuck.
