OMC Turbojet 115

Anyone have any experience with this powerplant? I am considering a second riverboat with this engine/jet unit and am not familiar with it. There is an upgrade kit for this engine, but noone here knows much about it??

These are basically the V4 crossflow motors and therefore pretty good engines. The number 1 thing that happens to any Turbo Jet is they over heat because they are packed full of sand/mud/shells/weeds etc. from running in too shallow of water.<br /><br />Good luck!

Family has 1995 Fourwinns, with 115 OMC, runs great. We are second owner, first owner had invoice that said increased HP by 5HP for about 200.00, have no idea what was done to engine. I serviced the engine and got to ride in it twice. The engine runs and sounds just a Johnson 115. You have to nurse it to get it on plane, but after that about 45 by speedometer, not GPS.
