OMC Upper Gear Case ID Model 980064

I have been looking through all my parts manuals and Online with no listing for this number. I expected it to be a Upper Gear Case Assembly. Does anyone have this number listed anywhere?

Real funny! The picture is of a Gear Case on Ebay. It is the first Gear Case picture I have seen that shows some numbers on it. By the way, when I am done with the drive I have, it will be OMC White. Now with that said, can either of you ID this thing for me. :/

Relax Lyndy, everyone knows that OMC stands for Other Mercruiser Company.
The real trick is to visit your local "Used To Be" OMC Sterndrive dealer. He will have a catalog or some microfitch that he can look up that particular model number on but it's not online.
You might also sift thru the different models on the BRP site that is now OMC since the bought out OMC a few years ago.
Just go to the link below, pick sterndrive under the products dropdown menu, then pick the years and the model numbers. Eventually you should find it.

Hi Don.. Took the jab as intended. Been to the BRP site. Not much luck. The numbers seemed to have some sequence to them between the model years. Went through about half the models. The numbers for the gear case were all around the number of this Gear Case. Also tried searching for it with no luck. I guess it is time to try the other half of the models.
