Is there a way of knowing if the water pump on an OMC 120hp system is working if you have the boat out of the water and a garden hose hooked up/

Re: OMC Water pump

not really... hose will make the worst pump look good.
Have to launch the boat to really know.
A bucket or garbage pail might work - but it's not really easy to get that style of drive submerged enough unless you tilt it, and best not to run with a stringer drive tilted... but for a couple of minutes it would be ok.
Just be aware the pump is in the upper gearcase, so you need about 3/4 of the whole drive under water for it to pump properly.

this is what you are trying to replicate (or close to it)- tough to do with a bucket
