I have gotten a 3 bank charger for my boat to charge two 12 volt batterys and plan on mounting it in the front section of the boat. What I was wondering about is the leads for the cranking battery will not reach to the back of the boat where the cranking batt. is. Will it hurt to splice the two leads for the cranking battery if you use the same ga. wire? Thanks Sandy O

Re: On Board Charger

It's ok to do that but I would use the next size larger wire. If the charger outputs have 16 ga, use 14 ga. The longer the run the more important it is to use larger wire due to resistance.
