On board grilling setup questions

So my new to me 04 larson 230, open bow boat has a table that sits on a pedestal that is similar to a table in an RV. It is located in the back of the boat, and is really very nice to have. PO had it setup to slip the table off, and place a 14" wide weber gas grill in it's place. Looks like it would work fine, but I suspect it could smoke out any passengers in that area when in use. I am also concerned about little kids accidentaly bumping into it and getting burnt.

I have traditionally beached the boat to do lunch. Don't want that to be my only option.

I am considering one of the Magma type grills. I have no rails to hang from, and I have no rod holders, nor do I want either. Is there a mount that would install in a fashion similar to my stern light that would allow the grill to swivel out over the side of the boat? If so how stable are they? Pics would be great

Do you have a swimstep with swim ladder with a cover/lid?
We got the new Magma "Newport" grill shortly after we bought the boat in Dec '07.
I decided to get the pedestal mount and install the base out of the way under the swim step lid.

Here's the underside of the swimstep. Mounted with some 5200

This only took about 20 Minutes~very easy installation

The pedestal disconnects from the Grill and the base. I'll stow the pedastal and the propane can in the transom locker and I made a plywood base

for the grill to mount sit in. It's mounted to the platform the water tank is on.
The lower Black cup that's on the grill will go into the hole in the plywood.
Here's the grill stowed in the bilge. It's painted now

Anyway after we used it for the last 3 1/2 seasons I realized I needed a tray or side table to set things on. Magma makes the front tray that clips on, but I can't set a tray of meat or seasonings on there + it's so close it's too hot for those things, especially a beer. So I recently started a company and I am offering grill side tables made from Sepele (like Mahogany) and Ipe hardwoods.
It clips on the back transom locker railing if you have one and the feet can match your boat to set the table level.

Re: On board grilling setup questions

That's a pretty nice setup, but I think the answer to his question is much simpler -- Yes, there are mounts that you can buy for the Magma and other commercial grills that don't require either a rod holder or a railing. Check pretty much any site that sells Magma stuff.
