Onboard battery charger install on a 03 Lund Fisherman

I bought a Dual Pro 2 bank onboard charger for my '03 1800 Fisherman and wanted to know if anyone else who has this model boat were is your charger mounted. I want to mount it right in the center floor storage of the boat where my trolling batteries are but not quite sure on how to secure it. Would it be ok to use sheet metal screws but then thought no because they may come loose after time due to vibration and not sure exactly what is under that part of the hull. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Welcome to iboats....but you are gonna get one of these threads closed for double posting as soon as a mod comes across it. In the future you may try to just be a little more patient and wait for the responses, or PM a mod and ask them to move it to the correct forum. Good luck on your install, and welcome again!

In fairness, infidel, I'm the one who suggested he post it here. I forgot about having a mod move it. Sorry.

Know what you mean. I'm Lund owner myself and I only get to that board once or twice a week. Didn't want our new bud to get discouraged. Still, you would think as long as I've been here I would have thought to suggest asking for a move. Oh well, good bottle of wine I'm working on.

I stomp on toes all the time. Don't lose any sleep over it.
It doesn't matter where you mount it so long as you don't put screws where you risk puncturing the hull. My advice is to always install them on a vertical panel rather than the floor. Floors get wet!. If you don't have a convenient vertical panel -- make one. Wood or metal. Lowes and Home Depot have all sorts of aluminum sheets, angles, and tubes for the do it yourselfer.

Thanks Silvertip, I believe I have a vertical metal panel I can mount it to thanks to some pics of another Fisherman w/ charger I saw. This is all in the same compartment as the batteries so should work good, will try to post some pics of the mod finished.

No toes stomped here brother!:D Nice rig you got there too!

Just got it about 2 months ago, my first real fishin boat, got a pretty good deal on it so it's been a blast so far.
