One last outing in the boat

My wife wouldn't be too happy knowing that I'm posting this but...

Last weekend my wife and I took our Glastron out for an end of season ride up the Connecticut River. The leaves are in full color this time of year but the water is turning much colder. After we got back to shore, my wife indicated that she wanted to drive the boat up onto the trailer as she has seen me doing many times. I said ok, so she dropped me off at the shore. I gently pushed the boat back into the water and turned to walked to get the truck. I had our cell phone on my belt and she decided that she wanted to call the kids to let them know we were on our way home. I turned and was going to toss her the phone as the boat was now 5 feet or so off shore and drifting back. For some reason, she decided to jump out the bow to come back to shore, thinking that the water was only a couple of inches deep. Before I could say anything, she jumped off, and with a splash, completely disappeared under the water. It wasn't just a quick under and up, she was down for a good couple of seconds, to the point where I was thinking I was going to have to dive in after her! The launching area was full with boats and I could see a few smiles after she came out of the water dripping. Needless to say, I drove the boat onto the trailer that day.
