OK, got the carb back on the motor and fired it up.....had some issues getting tuned out, then realized I had two problems. The darn welch plug I "thought" was in was loose....not enough to fall out or blow out but it was loose. I think that is now corrected but will add some loctite or some other epoxy over it just to be sure....but the second problem was the low speed adjustment screw. The darn thing would actually turn OPEN by itself when running at high rpms, so it was making it impossible for the motor to run right. I had the nut tightened somewhat but read that you only needed enough tightness so that there was resistance on the screw. No problems at all on the high speed one... But I had to tightend down a LOT to get resistance enough for it to stop on the low speed. I see no leaks and it runs pretty well now. I may find some oem packing washers as I fear these darn aftermarket (Sierra) ones are the problem. Or should I just say heck with it now that it is running OK?
