99 crownline 4.3 volvo i/o. My question is on the throttle control there is a small push button. It's not for the trim, gas or gear. To tell you the truth it may not be anything but it is a button that you can push in. Does anyone have an idea what it is? I'm hoping it's not a button from he**. After I pushed it before it seems like I had all kinds of trouble. Underheating, Cracked exhaust bellows, vibrations.....

Without a better description of the location of said button. I'm guessing that it is on the pivot point from where the throttle lever pivots. If that is the location, you can push the button in and open the throttle up without putting it in gear. This is usally done before starting to give the motor a shot of gas (if carberated) and to engage the choke, just like an engine with a carb except with the car you use the gas peddle. Or if the engine floods when hot, you can use it to open the throttle all the way (like with a car) to clear it out.

THis button is on the base directly in front of the disengage button. It's about the dia. of a pencil eraser.
