I'm trying to stream online with this local radio station that I cant get at my house. The problem, when I goto the website and try to stream. My browser crashes. I have tried IE and Firefox. Updated media player and everything I can think of. But still have the same problem. I hope this don't get scratched but its www.wnir.com. I have even deleted all history, cookies, and any thing else I can think of. Streaming video seems to work fine. Just cant stream audio. Any ideas?

Link works fine...... maybe you are trying to listen during a high internet traffic time for the web site?

What do you mean by your browser crashing? The browser may think it is a pop-up page so the actual player page isn't opening. When you click the listen link it opens a new tab or a new page (depending on how the browser is set to work). Do you see the player page or just the radio stations original home page?

I see the player page. Its starts to load then the browser crashes. "IE has encountered a problem and needs to close"

Re: Online streaming help

That certainly would be your browser crashing! Yikes. Unfortunately I don't think it is the website, but something with your computer. I tried it using Firefox on a Mac and it worked well, I also tried it in Windows XP and IE 7 and it worked fine too. I was hoping it was something simple like a pop-up blocker. The direct link to the player is here maybe going directly to that page will help? Sorry I'm not more helpful but I can't seem to figure this one out.

When the browser crashes, it traps some information and allows you to send it to microsoft. If they have experience with the error, they will reply with a page telling you what's wrong. Have you done that and what do they say?

To get the streaming, the browser has to call another program, probably windows media player, but some other player may have changed the registry settings so it is called. All that should be in the crash data.

This sort of error is often caused by interference from a trojan, also.

hope it helps
