Hi, I have a 1985 Mercury 50 HP 4 Cyl. It ran great last summer, then whe I first tried it this year, it had no power! I figured carb problem, so when I was about to take carbs off I noticed the stator and trigger wires had(Green Death) insulation brittle and wire green and disentegrated! I replaced stator and trigger with CDI parts. Now it only has spark at the top cylinder! The new stator and trigger wire colors are identical to the ones I replaced and are wired up the same. I switched the coil signal wire and it sparks on that coil, so I know its not the coils. Power pack? Or bad trigger? Any tricks to test would be appreciated. The s/n is A100677. Thanks

Could be switchbox or Trigger.... You can ohm the trigger leads out, but you'll need a manual to determine the proper readings...

There's one box on ebay for sale right now that will work with your motor....

It was posted in another post just recently...

Ebay
