only works on full throtel

I have a 6hp Johnson (1969) did a small service , everything cleaned good ,new gaskets ,new plugs ,new plug cables. After a lot ( about one month) of fine tuning everything up I finally started it but only one problem it only works on full throttle as soon as I release it it starts to choke and dye and than it starts after 2-3 pules.

And also when I pull it and it does not start fuel starts pouring out of the front of the carb .

Sounds as though your float valve is not working properly. Needle valve may be worn, dirty or stuck; float may be defective
