I have been watching all the work Oooops has been doing on his boat and as I sat here tonight looking out into the driveway an Evil thought came to me . I have a semi Ok 74 Larson with a 120 Merc I/O. I also have a 64 Crestliner that originally had an outboard on it but came to me with no outboard . I have seen guys tying to switch from I/O to outboards but I havent seen anyone nutty enough to try it the other way around . I think it would make for a killer quick little 2 seater :D . What do yall think :D.

I think it would probably work provided you balance the boat right.

I don't think a lot of people would do this because they wouldn't want to lose the interior space and I/Os are more complicated than outboards to install, so it's more work and all the I/O parts can be expensive.

But if you want to do it as an experiment there's no reason why it shouldn't work. The transom should already be strong enough, and you could balance the boat fore and aft since you're essentially moving weight forward.

Go for it.

Hey, most boats had the option of inboard and outboard like my Glastron...just a model number change and a different cap on the boat essentially ( along with all the other I/O essentials ).

I had actually considered it, but I don't have a donor boat to do it with, so I'm sticking with the original outboard configuration. I'd rather have an inboard for the motor aspect, but the driveline is the part that would have me :confused::confused:
