:( Hi guys I have a 1994 Yamaha 225TXRS 3.1L. I was having trouble with the carbs about six months ago. I took it to a marine mechanic to fix(so he says). To make a long story short its doing the same thing again. I know for a fact that its the carbs because I took them apart and found dirt inside main nozzle and slow jets. I'm having a hard time removing the cap from one of the main nozzles. I used screw removers on three of them and the last one broke(as shown in pic). I have the pieces that broke off and they are large enough to glue back on. Is there some type of epoxy that can be used to fix it that will hold up against the gasoline? Can I fix it or am I S.O.L? Pic 9 what do you recommend? I cant remove the slow jet because whoever tried taking them out wore out the heads. Can I just leave them alone? Is there a special tool to remove? What kind of carb soaking/cleaning solution do you recommend that is powerful enough to clean good if I cant remove small jets. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I dont want to pay somebody again and they do another half A** job. Thanks guys!

check price on new carb. maybe better than trying to glue internal carb parts. sounds like all the carbs maybe are dirty and if you can't get them apart to clean them, then it's not too good. maybe replace all carbs...cheaper than buying a new motor. Good Luck!

that carb is toast, however a friend of mine has that same motor that friday he blew a piston, saturday he bought a used F250 and later this evening he his gonna mount it and would most likly sell you any part you need.
he is gonna part out the old engine.PM some time.
doesnt look like a half arse job, looks like someone let it sit with fuel in the carbs, thats what that nasty stuff is, fuel residue, could also be coming from the tank if you have introduced it to ethanol fuels in the past year.

Thanks. I figured I would need to buy new carbs, I was hoping I didnt have to but you are right, its cheaper than a new motor.

yea but look at it this way if the exopy was to break free it would clog up cause no fuel or lubercation to get to the cyclinders and then ur in a rebuild or repower

Re: OOPS I need some good advice here

Thanks for replying. Six months ago when I had carbs worked on it was because they sat with fuel like you said. I also went ahead and had gas tank cleaned. If you see them you would never think they were cleaned less than six months ago. I would definately like to purchase some parts from your buddy, specially carb#3. How can I get in contact with him. My email is bori2020@gmail.com. Thanks again!!
