1989 Johnson GT 100. I am trying to check the gear lobes on the lower unit. I have removed the lower unit and gotten down to the bearings(drive shaft still attached). There seems to be a silver plate on the lower side of the bearings. how do i get past that plate, and ultimately to the gear lobes? Thanks in advance!
