opening the remote control box

I have this 76 70hp evinrude and the key switch went out and now I need to replace it.
can some instruct me as to how to remove it to get to the key switch.
I have removed the shifter, the bottom half of the controller but can not figure how to remove the top half the controller.

Thanks for the reply, but I have this info. I still cannot remove the top section of the controller. Cannot figure out what is holding it in place have removed all screws.

you have removed the 2 screws that hold the controller to the boat?. When you say top and bottom its hard to picture what you mean can you post a diagram link and the part # that you are having trouble with please

I'm not sure how the top comes off on that model. But it is 3 pcs. The one I have is the next generation that has the warm-up lever on the top. Though I too believe it has to be taken off the boat in order to open it.

if you removed the bottom and the strip on top then I think there may be a screw behind the fast idle lever if you move that see if theres one there
