I have a chance to buy a early 2000's Mercury 90hp 4-stroke. Supposed to be in good running condition.
A teacher I know that was going to put it on his party barge but has to pay tution for son for college. Want's $3500.00 for it. Didn't Suzuki or someone make that engine for Merc? Any one have any experiance with this motor? Can these earlier models be hooked up to a reader like a car to learn any motor history? How much heavier are they than my 1982 90hp Evenrude? I would assume it would certainly be easier on gas than the evenrude.

Yamaha made that motor...If it is the EFI model hours and rpm's can be read...that motor will weigh close to 400 lbs...no comparison on fuel consumption. I have a 115 on my 32ft tracker....

Thanks for reply nebel,From my understanding it is a carburator model. Hopefully still a lot better gas milage. I like the idea a yamaha motor and merc has good lower ends
