Re: Opinions on 70 & 115 Suzukis

I had a Suzuki 70 from the first year the 4strokes were out. We pulled two skiers at the same time all day long with the engine and put over 2000 hours on the engine. We didn't pay for the 6 year warranty, but we never had a single part break on the engine. It is on the most incredible boat engine we have ever owned. We were running a 17 pitch prop on a 17 mako. When we were pulling skiiers, we would drop the prop down to a 15 pitch. WOT on a 17 mako was around 37 mph.

I have a 2003 115 Johnson/Suzuki. Absolutely love it.

I've got a 2000 70hp 4 stroke and love the engine. I've been really happy with it and only had an issue of a bad spark plug (no fault of the engine). Easy on fuel, quiet and runs like a swiss watch.

I ran a 2001 DF70 for several years and was delighted with it. Best outboard I ever had*, and I have had a ton of great outboards.

*Except for several JohnnyRude 3hp, but they were little engines.

Howdy P&S.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Your question is lost in a different discussion. Make a new thread to get proper attention.

The DF140 is a great engine, but those 140 horses are kinda small if you lust for thrust.

jb, depending on the boat and load.

if i was in the market for a new motor it would defenatly be a suzuki 4 stroke.

they are easy to work on(maintenence)
very dependeble and run smooth.
