There is a place here in fla that sells tohatsu's.I'm going to buy a new 15 or 20hp outboard i think.I found a new 2011 20hp short shaft with electric start and power trim for $2590+tax which comes out to a little over $2750.Is that a good price.Or i was just going to go with a 15hp manual for $2050+tax or a 20hp manual start for $2350+tax but i have not decided yet.

I don't really need the power trim or electric start but i guess it would be nice to have.I found the same motor at onlineoutboards.com but it was close to $3000 for the 20hp elec start and power trim.I'm running it on a g3 1442 or a 1544 that i'm getting tomorrow also.Does anyone think a 15 will do the trick or should i go with a 20 on that boat. The 2 boats are both rated for a 25hp but i don't want to go that heavy on a 4stroke motor(157lbs)and i don't want a 25hp yamaha i'm done with 2strokes for now.

Well any help would be great thanks.

i run a 9.8 4 stroke on a g3 1444. top speed with 1 is 18.1- 19.1, top speed with 2 is less than 10 mph. i should have bought at least a 18 hp. 20 would have been good. i should also have got electric start. pt or assist also.i would highly recommend the 20 with electric and assist. i got mine at online outboards. i just wish i had someone to talk to about my present problem. good luck

The newer 15 and 20 are built on the same frame, essentially the same motor. If you can afford the 20, and the boat can handle it, go for it.

No, you didn't. Someone is lying to you.
