I have a 1981 16ft galaxy tri hull deck boat I am repairing on the cheap. The screws holding the fiberglass floor to the wood rusted out, and I've pulled all the old screws and put in new screws, and about 40 of the 50 new screws I put in grabbed tight (floor is tight now). The transom is very tight, no flex or movement at all. I am thinking about pulling the 10 screws that didn't pull tight, and using a syringe to squirt epoxy through those holes and all the old screw holes, and then using putty to close the holes off, and using the remaining epoxy to cover the floor to seal the screws, and then laying carpet over it all. I only want the boat to last another 5 years or so, and it is always stored indoors.
I took pics of the inside...does what I want to do sound reasonable after looking at them?
