Hi All,
I'm taking a look at this older boat tomorrow. Anyone know anything about Baretta boats?

http://cleveland.craigslist.org/boa/5576035281.html

I'm a first time buyer and have read through the "sticky note" checklist and will try to follow as best as I can.
Here is what I know - this is a single owner boat that was cared for at a marina since new. Was never stored outdoors and was cared for very well.
When I called the marina they immediately new what boat I was talking about and the lady on the phone said she considered buying herself.

I'm a little nervous with something this old, but from what I have gathered in my price range I should be more worried about how it was taken care of rather than age.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Wow that is a clean boat!! And I thought my boat was clean when I got it. If it's a Tri-hull it could ride a little rough.

Sounds good so far. Boats that age and condition are out there, just very rare. The pics on that one make the boat seem very promising.

The 1980 in my signature had a similar story. Mayor of small marina town owned it and let the Marina take care of it, he just called ahead when he wanted to use it, or so the story went. I took a chance on it, though at about half the risked amount you are looking at, and have had very good luck with it.

Good luck, hope if it is what it appears to be that it won't be the one that got away :)
