Hey all,

I am sure everyone has their opinions good or bad, but I am trying to make an informed decision...

I am looking at a boat that has a late 80's (don't know the exact year yet), Suzuki 115Hp, Oil injection motor on it.

Compression is great, motor started right up and boat ran great in sea trial...

Mainly what I am looking for is what is ya'lls opinion on these motors? (Never had a suzuki before).

I really need something RELIABLE first and foremost.
Second, needs to have readily available parts in case something happens...

Thoughts?

These are great motors. Like all out boards though they need regular maintenance. As long as you use a good gas preserver (like stabyl) you get many enjoyable hours out of your motor. With the poor ethanol gas we get water is a problem. use Stabyl or any quality gas treatment and a water/fuel seperator and the problems are minimal. Good Luck!!

Thanks waffles...

I typically use the Startron enzyme ethanol treatment during season, and stabil when stored... so that shouldn't be a problem, and I also plan on replacing all the fuel lines just for good measure.

Also read some of the other posts on these motors, and they seem like a fairly safe bet.
