Re: Opinions on the 2000 Maxum 1900SR

Hi Flood runner.

I purchased a 2000 1900SR with a 5.0 Mercruiser engine about 2 1/2 years ago. So far I really love it. I've actually seen the new model Maxum boats at a boat show this year and prefer my model better. The new boats seem a little cheaper to me.

The previous owner of my boat took really good care of it and I have had no problems so far. With proper maintenence, I don't see why this boat wont last forever.

The boat can seat 6 comfortably. Of course, the more weight you have on the boat, the longer it takes to plane out. As far as top speed, this boat goes fast enough unless you plan to do some Atlantic crossings. With just me onboard on a calm day, with the lower unit trimmed out properly, I can top 50-55mph. Not bad!

Re: Opinions on the 2000 Maxum 1900SR

I have the 2000 1900SC (cuddy cabin) and I am thrilled with it. The 5.0 (mine is EFI) runs great at altitude (I have run as high as 8,000 feet), never stumbles or gives me starting problems. I have had it up to 54 MPH @ Lake Powell, which is about the lowest safe altitude for me to run with my pitch and gearing. Seems to be built really well and is a perfect size for my family of 4, or for a few buddies to go fishing/camping.

Re: Opinions on the 2000 Maxum 1900SR

I know this is an older post but for anyone searching for info in this boat I just bought a 2001 1900 sr that had 120 hrs on the 5.0 220. I have really enjoyed the construction quality and cockpit layout. It fits precisely in my garage with just enough room in front of the break away trailer tongue to get to the other side of my garage. I am having to troubleshoot the prop to match the performance I need for slalom. A great small family (3-5)size boat

I have a 2002 1900SR 5.0L V8 and love it. Yes, I agree, the new ones look cheap, I like the wood finish....mine is in for a fluid service, can't wait to see the bill :)
