I have a 3/4 acre or so rain basin on my property. It is around 10 ft deep in the middle. I'm looking for a rowboat to put in it, which would be just to mess around with, maybe for my sons use. I found a guy on craigslist with an aluminum one: http://knoxville.craigslist.org/boa/2999984232.html

I'm looking at the older one he has. What do you guys think? Is $250 too much? It looks kind of beat up, and he says it floats, but I'm concerned with how long it will float. This is a pic of the pond. IMAG0130.jpg

Keep looking you can probably find a better deal. I've found flat bottoms around here for 50-100$

I wouldn't pay more than a hundred for a beater rowboat. I see them for free many times in my area.

Yeah, I went to look at it today. Got the guy down to $125, but ended up passing. There was a pile of old parts and wires in it, and I was afraid to pull it on the highway as the only thing holding the trailer together was rust. Looking still, thanks for the replies.

I'd suggest a flatbottom as well, maybe even one of those little plastic pond hoppers. C note sounds about right to too.
