Hi, this is my first post here seems to be a great forums.
Im new to boating at least by myself. Me and a buddy just picked up a 1987 21ft sea ray monaco with a 350 chevy mercruiser alpha 1. It was a friend of a friend deal. The boat has been stored for 4 years was winterized and all. Only major thing wrong with it is the vinyl a coon got in it and tore it to crap. But we are getting it all replaced for $500 gotta love family connections. also some glue on the sides but it comes off with goof off. The guy included 2 new downriggers with 360 degree bases, a fish finder, standard ship to shore, all mooring covers, trailer obviously. We only paid $1,000 . It starts up first time everytime, and idles awesome. Hull is in excellent shape.
sorry for the long post im just excited. Now to my questions
1. anything particular i should look for? i.e. future problems with engine or something.
2. Is this a good deal or what?
3. Anyone know where i can find marine vinyl in the downriver michigan area?
