My 1989 Yamaha 200hp 2 stroke blew the powerhead. I can purchase a 2007 Suzuki DF200 with 100 hrs for $7000.00 My boat is a 1984 Wellcraft Sportsman 248 with a bracket. I was happy with performance of the Yamaha and wanted to get opinions on the Suzuki's performance despite being almost 200lbs heavier.

What is the cost of the re-build? Any amount less than 7000.00 and I think you have your answer. I would also consider used motor, not know history, with 100 hours vs. rebuit virtually new engine with no hours and you know all about it.
