Optimax rigging questions

I am replacing a 95 merc 200 on a ranger with a 2008 optimax 200. Can anyone tell me if my controls are going to work and what I might need. He is telling me that he thinks all I will need is a wiring adapter and that my cables will work. I have hydraulic steering and assume that it will also work. Any help will be appreciated.

I got the wiring adapter and a kit to convert the trim gauge to analog. Downloaded a manual and just waiting on the motor to come in. If I learn any tricks to this I will post them. If anybody has any words of advice I would appreciate the info.

Well my motor finally came in today. All I had to do was screw the adapter harness in and hook up the hoses and she fired right up. I
gotta replace my battery cables due to the insulation crumbling and pick up a fitting to get my water pressure gauge hooked up and I will be in the water. I also got to find the clamp and boot that the controls go through but I can run it to find one.
