Ser 1B364547 90HP opti.

I need the connector that plugs into the ignition coil and can't locate it on the EPC. I'll be in Hayward for optimax class with Jim Fry on Mon so can ask him then. Anyone know where merc hides the part number or have a source?

Thanks,
James

I always enjoy the conversations between Jim and the classes. Sometimes I leave feeling like I've been to see a "motivational" type seminar speaker. He's a cool guy and a seriously good person from what I've seen. I'm guessing that the current political climate will yeild some good conversation although I have a feeling that most of us will be in agreement.

Once again thanks for your time, as usual, now I feel obligated to spend some time answering a question or two on the sterndrive forums.

84-854839T02 for the connector, inspect harness, replace all coils, and possible PCM damage seems to be the answer. I didn't even have to ask, it was part of the class.

It appears mercury has seen this a few time in the past.

Do you think Jim knows of a different list of how to find other OEM connector types for the the wiring harness? Also keep in mind, i believe there may be an "merc" wiring harness conector "pin extraction" tool kit available as well. Not sure of a part number if in existence, but should be pricey if they have one, $$$.:numbness:

There is a service bulletin for merc OB and another for merc SD with all "their" connectors. The merc tool for pin extraction is mentioned being plastic, it appears the old omc tools will do the job just fine. The replacement connector for my application comes with wire and bullet conns.
