Can't wait! Got the 300hp version, I wonder what 40 extra horses will fell like on my boat.
I'm guessing I'll need to buy a different prop?

Raul seems like a great guy!

I just ordered one as well. I asked about it and he said that I wouldn't notice much difference as well as my local mechanic. Good luck though, I hope you're satisfied.

What is the engine you are replacing? Did he give you a shipping estimate? He originally told me the end of this week, I called yesterday and he said it would probably be Monday or Tuesday. Can't wait. To be honest, not sure what he does to bump the power...I'm embarrassed I never asked.

I bought the 350 and paid the extra $185 for 300hp. but how will we know, we ever got it?? I only have about 6hrs. on mine. It run's great and has alot of power. I can't compare the hp. because it replaced an old tired motor. It took over 2 weeks to get mine. I was told it is the cam and I don't know what else.

Makes sense I guess. My engine is 33 years old, it didn't seem tired, but we will see.

What is the breakin procedure? I asked him about using synthetic and he said to use 40wt for break in and then switch to synthetic.

He probably has break in instructions with the engine. Why would you not follow his procedures? He wants his engine to last, and is procedures is what makes him think his motor will last it's longest.

Who said anything about not following his break in procedures? I know I certainly plan on it.

Just a word of advice, if you do go with this company, allow extra time and don't expect much customer service...

Re: US Engine ???

Now no return emails, no return calls.

Try calling 786-277-9637. That seems to be the only number that someone answers and just forget about a return email. I was calling Raul every two hours until he finally put the crate on the truck and gave me the tracking numbers.

I did just talk to Raul, if you can call his interrupting, over talking style of conversing talking. He had the gall to try and blame his **** poor customer service on me. No way in HELL I want someone like that building my engine. I canceled my order and demanded my money back, he had no problem charging my card last Monday of course. I am very disappointed, and hope I can find an engine somewhere so our vacation isn't ruined.

OK, I did a few things to try and keep this thread from getting deleted. I think this is so far informational, but we don't want it to become a bash fest. I moved the posts from the other, semi-related, thread. That was another member's thread, so let's keep these two separate.

If anybody has questions on my motives or methods comments are welcome . . . via PM ;)

Thanks QC. Not meant to be a bash fest but I have never dealt with as poor a customer service as I have with this company. The arrogance, the interrupting conversation, and the horrible lack of communication caused me to cancel my order. The owner had the gall to try and blame me, because I didn't answer my phone today LOL. I have tried to contact them all week long.
If this is the customer service I get now, what if I had a warranty issue? No thanks.
I own my own business to, and I would never in a million years speak to my customers the way he spoke to me.

Sorry to hear that! Like I said before, it took about 3 wks. to get mine. Even though the web site says shipped out the next day after payment is received. I expected mine to be about a week since I asked for the 300hp. So far it is running great.

You can't please everyone I guess. My engine from Rapido was just fine out of the gate, and the only other person I know who got one at the same time and had an issue got a replacement quickly.

I'd buy from them again... for the price I don't expect a lot of hand holding, just a refund or exchange if there's something really wrong, which I know they do take care of.

Well I disagree, and will never buy from them, nor will I recommend them. I do not like people who lie, or act like I am stupid.

Where do you get the hand holding thing??? I ordered my engine, after confirming with the owner that he could indeed ship it out within one week. I told him why I needed it and he said no problem. End of week gets here, no call, nothing. I called, and he said, I am great and my engines are the best and it takes time. I explained what he told me, yet he ignored me. He said it would ship the beginning of the following week. I wait until Wed., call, and email, and nothing. I called and emailed Thursday, nothing. Then after a long email and phone message on Friday, I finally get a call from Robin. She says she can't find out when my engine will ship, and has Raul call me. He would not let me get a word in, he kept interrupting me, and would not give me any info on when my engine would ship. I finally had to yell at him to get him to shut up, and I told him to give me my money back. Oh yeah, he charged my card the day I ordered!!! Bad business doing that IMO. Especially since he told me he had all parts and blocks in shop.
He also would not answer me when I initially ordered on how he beefed up the HP for a 300-320hp block.

Good luck to anyone going with him, you are going to need it. Do a search on complaints via uncle google.
