I find myself in a situation where I need to order some parts for my 30. liter, 140 hp Mercruiser engine. (Water pump and ignition parts), online-.
Does any body out there have any advice that might be of use to someone who has never done this before? (Order boat parts that is, I have ordered other online on-line before.)
Also if you have any dealers with dealears, Bad that or Bad,that you could share it would be very much appreciated.
I live in Canada and not sure whether to stick to ordering from a Canadian dealer or to order from the U.S.
Any recommendations you have or reccomendations on who to use would be great.
Thanks, Bernie in Ottawa (2 snowmobiling8 a year of bad snowmobiling!)8)

I would suggest staying away from BAM Marine. They tried to nick me a $15.00 "handling" fee, on top of $28.00 shipping on $32.00 worth of parts (less then a pound). Told them to ....., well, you get the picture

Re: Ordering parts on-line.

I've had success with these folks as they have a Canadian warehouse and I don't need to worry about getting dinged for brokerage fees from UPS and Fedex that can cost more that the items themselves.( I still don't get this rip off scheme. Free trade my AZZ!)

You still have to pay in US funds via credit card. I phone them to dicsuss what I need and get the stuff the next day or so. (GLM parts, not OEM) The prices are very good and the products are excellent.

It's a great place for schematics on your drive too. They also fix drives and if you want to do it yourself, show you the tricks and sell the tools to do so.
