Put new gaskets on my 1981 Johnson carberaters. On the gasket that goes between the intake and the front of the carberater, I have 3 bolt holes and this other opening I'm unsure about. The opening is in the top left corner from the face, and about the size of a pencil. On 2 of the 3 carbs this hole is covered. Is this an orfice, or nothing. Ig it's not that hard to take it apart but would just like to know as the reason I'm changing gaskets is the engine was having some running problems and sucking air. Thanks, JB

Gasket has to be on correctly.-----And the correct gasket.----That hole may lead to the bowl vent.-----As you know fuel in the bowl must have atmospheric pressure on it.
