I am not having any problems, just wondering.
Is there anyway of finding out what prop was originally used on a boat?

Re: Original prop

If it is an outboard, the motor ships from the manufacturer without a prop. That's because the engine manufacturer has no idea what boat the engine will be installed on. Keep in mind a work boat, barge, pontoon, flats boat, V-hull, and every other type of boat may all require a different prop. The boat manufacturer may sell a package (boat, motor, and trailer) in which case the engine would have a prop but again, the boat manufacturer has no idea how you will be loading and using the boat so again his choice may be wrong. The long and short of this is there is no such thing as a "standard" prop.

Re: Original prop

Ok, Now that I am thinking about props.......
The prop on my boat is a Michigan Stainless steel. The numbers on it read....
SSM- 394-c 15 1/2 x 19 RH
or
SSM- 354-c 15 1/2 x 13 RH

can't quite read because of marks on the numbers.

I am thinking about getting a spare aluminum prop. What do I need to look for?
