Origonal color '81 Rude 50??

Stripping and repainting my boat and motor and I keep hitting silver paint on the motor, it has always been Evinrude blue so I assumed that was the original color but was it?

Possibly a silver base then blue?

I already bought paint for it so it will be blue and the boat will be silver with green stripes so with the motor silver too I think that would be too much so really I am just curious.

Most of the paint on the body of the motor kinda fell off so it is bare aluminum, I am hitting this on the motor mount.

Already have etcing primer, but thanks for the tip.

Alot of people don't know you can't just paint aluminum.
