Just an FYI...ona day when a relatively simple task goes to pot.... I was just gonna change out the seal for leak down issues on my trim pump valve body. I got all three lines out and was working on the fourth... the line wrench slipped and guess what! CRACK! the freaking wear broke of the valve body!!!!!!!! ughhhhhhhhh

so all I can say is be very careful hunting wabbits sometimes things don't work out.....
so now I guess its 150 buck ebay time.....

yea heard from Ritt and I think in gonna go the Chinese one for 80 bucks... talked to a weling shop and the guy would do the job for 60 bucks and itll still need a rebuld but im needing a bigger boat and the wife is wanting a pontoon... or a deck boat so im thinking of going that route and unloading my project baby.....oh well youll never get the time and money out of it...but she is/has been a blast and labor of love.

The $80 Chinese junk will last you at least a couple of years depending on the size of the outboard. Personally, I would have the old one fixed by RRitt as a spare just in case for another $90. As RRitt says, the original ones even though refurb can still outlast the Chinese versions by many years. I've got a leak down on my valve body now but will have to wait until the season is over before replacing it with a Chinese version and then try rebuilding the OEM one.

yea I hear ya... but like a total moron I had a line nut that stripped and I used a vise grip to try to get it out and it slipped too and broke the ear off of the valve body so its effectively useless no so my choices are next to nill......
