ouch !

I bought a tv for the boat, a little Toshiba 13" color / remote / vcr / 12/110 volt unit. I was worried about scratching it up so I left it in the plastic 'til we got to the boat. We arrived and started to load up our stuff. I passed my friend my son, who he put on the deck. The cooler... on the deck. The chips 'n stuff... on the deck. My overnight bag which I always take... on the deck. So finally I pass him the tv, he grabs it very carefully and turns around to pass it downstairs to my wife. I turn to move the cart out of the way, all of a sudden... bang! bang bang bang. I guess my friend decided the plastic bag it was in was a carrying tote so he held it by the top and the tv ripped the bag. How dumb. The tv fell through the bag, onto the first step and then tumbled down the stairs. It was all scratched up and looking like a heap of crapola. It hadn't even been plugged in yet!<br />Thanks for the help I said.<br />I hate when that happens!!

Mag thats tragic, no tellie on the boat. Reminds me of a comic I saw of a father & son watching a sunset on a tv while out the window was the same scene. Think not of your loss but that you have been liberated. A bit like a mini version of what Pres.Bush did to bagdad. Set them all free from somthing they didn't know was bad for them. If its any comfort I dropped a clients piano the other day, they refused insurance and are taking me to court. I hate when that happens.

Liberation? Heck, it's just a stinkin' TV. I did somethin' bad... I put it back in the box and took it back to the superstore and told them they musta' sold me the demo. They gave me a brand new one. I never had any 'help' getting it in the boat this time so now it's in there safe and sound. I hope I can be forgiven for my sin.

magster, i would have done the same thing.<br />i'm going to tell you about something my wife did!(because she's asleep right now) anyway, i ordered and paid for 9 storm windows and $1500 in base cabinets at a store i dont want to reveal. (it was $585 dollars for the windows) so they call me and say the cabinets & windows are in! i go to pick them up and the cabinets are buried, they say they'll deliver them the next day for free, so i say i'll take the windows now! the kind man loaded the windows in the truck for me and i left. a few days later they call my house again and say my storm windows are in i look at my wife and say the windows arent there but you can go see if they have some more for us. she left and came home with $585 dollars.<br />after they couldnt find the windows, she told them to just refund her the money. i think we may go to hell for that one!<br />

she feels guilty about it to this day, and that was 3yrs ago!<br />not guilty enough to go return the money though.

Reminds me of the time I tried to return my second born. I said he must have been swithced at birth. The hospital said they didn't do returns.
