I don't know what I'm doing but trying.
Can't seem to get it to go in forward or reverse. I checked to make sure that power was getting from the elec. shift back to the stren. Power is going down in the stren. I took the stren off to see where the wires were going. Magnets right? How can I check to see if they are working. How would I hook up the wires, and the tell if it is working or not. I checked both wires before took I off. In reverse one wire was hot, and in forward the other was hot. But wouldn't go in gear.

------------------
sdglover@cox-internet.com

Re: Ouestion for CORM

Hi Stan,
In the diagram the wire (37) connects to the forward gear magnet(11) and the Reverse (22)
When powered up they pull the spring clutch
(13) to it.Streching it out so it will wrap tightly around the Forward clutch drum(12)
engageing F gear.If the spring is broke you can turn the prop either direction with ease.
If the drum is wore out the prop will turn
both ways, but harder counter clockwise. If the magnet is shorted prop will turn easy
both ways. If the oil is the wrong weight
it may not work either. It needs 75 wt LU Oil
to work correctly.
Hook the wire to 12volts positive and the neg to the LU case to test,if working right
you can turn prop about 1/4turn counter clockwise and it should lock into gear for
F gear. Reverse check is the opposite direction and the ather wire hooked to the pos battery terminal.

...have fun...corm (I'll try to send more pictures)
