Hello to all, it’s been a while since my last post, but I’ve been around the board.
Today I met the yard crew at the crane for a 5:00 PM splash in. It's been a long spring commissioning with a few extra projects that I've been putting off for a while.
? Finally ran a new, longer, AC condensate line into a new shower sump box...no more water in the bilge all summer. That little (Marine Air) self-contained AC unit puts out about 1.5 to 2 gallons an hour. The fella who installed it just ran the line into the bilge and I wound up with not enough water to activate the float switch but way too much water in the bilge for my comfort.
? Like I mentioned a new shower sump box
? New ? x 5/8 raw water strainer with all new fittings, hose, and double SS clamps for the AC water intake
? New main bilge pump in the engine room
? All the wiring fun
? Bottom paint
? Outdrive prep & paint…Chromate and Volvo Silver, hit the grease fitting for gimbal bearing
? New aluminum anodes
? Scrub the SS duo wheels and SS trim tabs (Barkeeper’s Friend works great on Stainless Steel…learned it right here)
? Wash the entire boat, scrubbed the seats, & waxed the hull, washed the engine with Gunk foam
? New horn
Things to do at the dock:
? Fill holes at several locations from old equipment that was replaced (hire out for that)
? Two new snap on deck carpets (hire out for that)
? Wax the top side
? Change the fuel filter
I’ll be running the boat up the Delaware River to my summer slip on Friday morning; it’s about a 7.5 mile run. Maybe I’ll do a little Striper fishing on the way.
Wishing you all a safe boating season and much success in getting out of your winter storage and into the water. Enjoy it; the season’s never long enough.
