So...first time boat owner here...for those that didn't see my NG post its a '93 Chris Craft 342 Express cruiser...been out a couple times working issues out as we go (boat sat for 2 years inactive)...still a few issues but we're gettin there. We keep it at Shorty Pants Marina at the Lake of the Ozarks (about 2 1/2 hours from us in st.louie)...anyway....gorgeous day...sunny 65 degrees...woke up early (boat sleeps 4 comfortably)...no one on the lake and glass like water...decided to do some practicing with slow maneuvers...ya know...backin into the slip...cozying up to the gas dock...I've still got the "tight cheeks" backin in but I'm getting more comfortable with it. Had a guy tell me when I first bought it "never approach anything faster than ya want to hit it"...seemed like good advice so I don't :)....slow and steady is my game...fun getting to know your boat...her and I are developing a great relationship....I think she appreciates the attention. So...enough with dialog and here's some pics....

My daughter Olivia and wife Kelly at Shorty Pants.

Olivia and I at the helm...peace out

off the bow

awesome day....just wanted to share a few things about my first time boat ownership...each time gets better...have a great day all and thanks for readin.

No No No I don't like the french fry thing!!!!!!! LOL But, I do love the Lake of the Ozarks and miss that area. I miss the fishing.

You will get better responses up where I moved this to ;)

Oh I am jealous......... it snowed here this morning in VT. Yes I love MO and I was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood 3x over the years.

Thanks for the advice Bob.....new guy so I wasn't sure where certain things will get the most play.....the Lake is great...plenty of action and still areas where ya can get away from the crowds.....that'll be the last outing for me with the boat this year...here's hoping boating weather comes early next year.

We live in FL so it's always boat season! Glad you and the family are getting out on the water. Have fun and stay safe. Take it all slow and you'll be fine!

Hey ~~~ I just arrived home been out on the Atlantic fishing all day. Great time of year to fish as the tourists are gone and weekend warriors don't go much after September. Brought a couple Mahi in for a few nice dinners. Nice boat,,, but no ocean in St Louie

Good times is what boating is all about. If you need any help shaking out some of the kinks in the boat don't hesitate to stop by and ask.

Wow !!! 34 footer as your first boat !?!? That is impressive. Many folks here would tell you to get an 18 foot runabout and work your way up.

Looks like a nice day out in the mid-west. I spent the whole day putting my boat to bed for the winter and chasing a problem with the port side outdrive. So, I would have commented sooner. :)
