I have a 1993 Cajun fish and ski. I just put a rebuilt 1988 Mariner 150 on it. Motor runs real good. However, while idling around the lake the warning buzzer went off. Motor was not overheating and started without the alarm right away. I went to pump the gas line to make sure I had good gas flow in the line and it felt like there was no gas in the line. Pumped it about 50 times and got good gas flow. This has happened about 4 times. I replaced all the gas line. Direct connected it to the motor, and it still does this. I do run a gas line water filter (new filter). This is the only break in the gas line other than the bulb.
My next step would be to bypass the water filter and try it. The filter is not leaking any gas and appears to be well sealed. Could there still be a slight air leak here that I am not detecting? Other than that, could it be something in the gas tank causing this problem?
Any help is appreciated.
