outboard basics

Hi...<br />I know nothing about the mechanical workings of outboard motors(or any motor as far as that goes) but would like to learn the basics... Does anyone know of a good website or book or something that presents this information? Any info appreciated.

This site is a perfect way to spend time learning anything to do with boats/motors. For a more organized approach go to the reference section of your library. They should have a variety of manuals and books covering the older and the newer, the larger and the smaller.

i have learned a lot from these guys and purchesed myself a shop manuel which just gives me a reference point when i am repairing things and i also print these guys reports to i have two folders full these guys are very resouresful
