Curious to find out how everyone details their outboards.

I have a few vintage evinrudes that could use a good degreasing (including under the Cowling).
How does everyone do this? Process? Products?

Cheers,

My motors are constantly manteined in excellent immaculate clean looking condition, no need to degrese them, but from time to time with a medium paint brush apply a coat of WD-40 on the entire powerhead and pan area as well...

Water under the cowl? Cover the airbox?
It a “marine” engine. It’s designed to be run in wet, humid conditions.

Certainly don't “drown” the thing but a light spray wouldn’t harm anything.

Can’t speak for your configuration but the air box limos access. I removed mine. Covered the intake of the carbs (6) using sandwich bags and rubber bands.

True. Will try some simple green in a spray bottle and a light hose off after.
