I was told not to use regular car engine oil in my Suzuki outboard. The spec for my Suzuki engine in the owners manual call for 10w/40w API SE,SF,SG,SJ. The only oil that I could find with this spec near me is Castrol 10w/40w API SM. Reading on the bottle it says it exceeds specs SL,SJ or SH is recommended. Is is ok to use? Thanks for any help.

SM is the newest class for API, all the others are older specs, they evolve forward, so they are backwards compatible, so you are fine with SM which came out in 2005, after your manual was written.
