Reading a previous posting about flushing the motor after use in saltwater, it was suggested that the muffs should be put on and ran for 15 minutes. Does it really need to run that long? I usually will flush the motor for maybe 5 minutes, (never really time it), and usually check the water to make sure it's warming up.
