outboard gear oil, DT 40, 1997

I have Valvoline Durablend synthetic blend 75w90 GL-5 automotive gear oil available. part nr. 15300.
Is this suitable for a DT40 outbord gear case?

The text on the bottles state: "for all hypoid gearsets"

my experience with motocross bike gear boxes is that when they fill with water due to river crossings and the like, synthetic oil seems to lubricate better than mineral oil, with water in it.

I would stick to the marine grade lube, it is made for these lower units with the proper additives
