Outboard Johnson Tilt Problem

I'm having a problem with my tilt. It works, but clicks like the gear teeth are slipping though some of the tilting on the rundown. Sometimes it sits still while the tilt motor runs for a min. or so. Whats going on? Can anybody help? Mickey

I wonder if those clicks you hear are air bubbles forced thru the valves, mine does a bit of that, sounds like hi pressure spitting.
Needs the air bleeding out of it if so.
